時光飛逝，再過一週，學校就要開學了。本學年的第一天是九月十一日。很高興在此歡迎您及您的孩子們回到學校，相信大家都有個愉快的暑假！

新學年度的開始，有些事要向諸位宣佈，請注意下列事項：

開學日：新學年的開學日，定於九月十一日下午兩點整，在 Quince Orchard High School 的餐廳舉行。請貴子弟準時到校，會有一個簡單的開學典禮，然後正式上課。第一天的課程，將於下午四點結束。

註冊：請儘早在開學前註冊，以方便學校作業。註冊單及相關資訊，請上學校網站查詢 www.gaithersburgchineseschool.org， 或與我連絡 widvxh01@gmail.com

上課時間：從第二週起，下午兩點有兩堂語文課 (2 – 4pm)，接著另有一堂語文延伸課，那是從四點到五點。

新家長會：9/18/2011 14:10 這是讓新加入蓋城的新成員，有機會了解學校的運作，及學生的權利與義務。希望能見到所有的新家長。

全校家長會：9/25/2011 14:10由董事會及校長報告學校的現況及展望，並聽取家長們的建議及回答疑問。希望能見到您。

年度教師節烤肉：定於十月九日早上十一點起，在蓋城的 Bohrer Park (506 S Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD) 舉行年度烤肉活動，食物及飲料由學校提供，但我們更歡迎大伙能提供各家的拿手好菜，共襄勝舉。

安全考量：請勿將貴子弟，於一點四十五分前，送到學校教室，因為沒有老師或家長照護。請務必關照貴子弟，若於兩點前到校，請至餐廳集合，待上課鈴響，再進入教室。

Dear GCS members,

Amazingly, the start of a new school year is just a week away, with the first day of school being Sunday, 11th of September, 2011! It is my pleasure to officially welcome you and your children "back to school." I hope that everyone in the GCS community had a wonderful summer vacation.

The start of every school year always brings about changes and reminders about certain routines. This year is no different. In order for the school year to begin in a safe and organized manner for all GCS students, it is important to be aware of the following events and procedures:

First Day of School: The 2011 fall semester of Gaithersburg Chinese School will begin on the 11th of September, 2011 Please arrive at school on time for the classes starting at 2:00 pm. A brief opening ceremony will be held at the Cafeteria from 2:00-2:10 pm. The first day of school will be dismissed at 4pm.

Registration: In order to waive the registration fee, please register before the school starts. Registration form and information can be downloaded from the school web site www.gaithersburgchineseschool.org. For inquiry, please email me widvxh01@gmail.com or call 301-519-1777and leave your message.

Class Schedule: From 9/18/11, school starts at 2pm with two language classes and extracurricular class that run from 4 to 5pm.

New Parent Orientation: 9/18/11 14:10 New parent orientation at school, this is for all new parents to learn how GCS run and GCS families rights and obligation. Hope to see all new parents.

Parent Meeting: 9/25/11 14:10 Parent meeting at school cafeteria. We will hold a parent meeting to report you the current progress and future direction of school from Board members and principal. We will listen to your suggestions as well as answer your questions. Hope to see all parents.

Annual Picnic: GCS Teacher’s Day annual picnic will beheld at Park Pavilion of Bohrer Park ( 506 S Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD) on 10/9/2011 from 11 to 4pm. Food and drinks will be provided. However, please feel free to contribute side dishes and bring your own sport equipments.

Safety consideration: For safety reasons, students should not arrive before 1:45pm because there is no adult supervision available before that time. Upon arrival, the students should proceed to the cafeteria. At 2pm, the children will be dismissed to their classrooms.
