親愛的蓋城家庭成員們，大家好,

在過去的兩個週末，我們完成兩個重要的活動。一個是校內的中國新年慶祝活動，另一個是2/8慶祝中國新年在Quince Orchard圖書館的活動。我想藉此機會感謝所有幫助和支持的人, 讓我們能夠圓滿,而且成功的完成這些活動。我要特別謝謝所有的老師們,不但花很多時間與學生練習新年的表演,還要支援在圖書館的活動, 投入許多的時間和心血.謝謝老師的辛苦. 我們在圖書館所展示的,無論是節目的表演,還是攤位的活動,讓我在會後收到很多觀眾的讚賞。由於我們出色的表現，Quince Orchard圖書館的經理已經邀請我們明年再來。我再一次感謝大家的辛苦和努力支持我們的學校。

這個星期天(2/16) 我們將有我們一學期一次的家長會， 我和董事會會向各位報告學校最新消息包括財務現況, 和未來計畫。正如我常常說的，家長的出席就是給學校最好的支持。我希望在這次會議中看到所有的家長們。

近期大雪讓學校停課數天, 路況也變的危險。希望大家出入平安小心, 並不忘加衣保暖。

Dear GCS family members,

Over the last two weekends, GCS has had two very important and successful events. One was the Chinese New Year celebration at our school on 2/2/14 and the other one was a celebration at Quince Orchard library on 2/8/14. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped and supported these two events allowing them to become the successes that they were. I would like to especially thank our language and extracurricular activities teachers who spent a lot of time working with students on their performances. Our students’ performance were excellent in both events! After the event at the QO library, I received many compliments from the audience.  Due to our outstanding presentations at the library, the QO library manager already has already invited us back next year.  Thanks again to everyone who supported our school.

We will have our once a semester Parent’s Meeting this coming Sunday, 2/16/14 from 2-3pm in the school’s cafeteria. The Board and I will report the status and the future direction of our school. As I always say, your presence is the best support you can give to our school.   We hope to see all parents at this meeting.

In our New Year celebrations at school, there was a guest performance by the YaYin singing group.  YaYin is planning to have a practice session during school time in the upcoming weeks, allowing our parents to have the opportunity to join them.  Our point of contact of YaYin at our school is Mr. Chao-Huang Yen, who is also our IT group leader.  Chao-Huang will share details with us at the Parent’s Meeting.  Below is a link to the song YaYin will be practice next.  It’s a beautiful one, enjoy.

The recent snowstorm created a beautiful scene of white all over our area, but it also created dangerous road conditions. I hope all of you stay safe and warm.
