在這封信中，我想提醒大家學校的隱私權政策, 是以“選擇退出”為原則。如果家長不希望自己的照片或自己的孩子被張貼在學校的網站 (例如演講比賽, 慶祝新年活動等等)，或任何公共媒體 (例如報紙等) ，請聯繫董事會，並填“選擇退出表 “。您有任何關於學校的隱私權政策的問題, 請直接聯繫我。 我要謝謝我們的資訊組組長顏照晃幫我們的網站做最新的更改。現在學校網首首頁，不但可以查閱校內的消息（如校長的信），也可以看到社區相關的新聞，這是給家長們提供方便, 而不需要去點擊其它的標籤。非常感謝照晃的幫助！ 日光節約時間會在3月9日開始。請家長們不要忘記設置你的時鐘提前一小時。希望大家享受未來的春天！
祝闔家平安 蔡慧玲 Dear GCS family members, As I mentioned in my last letter, we will be celebrating our milestone 40th birthday on 4/27/2014, and I was asking for contact information for our ‘lost’ GCS families (e.g. alumni, former teachers, etc). Thanks to those parents who provided updated contact information. Please contact me if you know any previous GCS family members, and invite them to our special event. We’ll have a committee to plan this event. You’re very welcome to join the committee. Or, if you have any good idea regarding the celebration, please let us know as well. We had a guest speaker, Dr. Martin Lo, who gave a speech on the subject of food safety two weeks ago. Dr. Lo gave an excellent speech to a full room of parents and students. He used his humor and a clear presentation to deliver information on a scientific subject. Dr. Lo also provided a link to a video with a similar speech he did in Taiwan. http://www.gcs-md.org/ (Chinese only). I believe this article and video clip will be helpful not just for the audience who attended, but also for those parents who missed the speech. In this letter, I want to remind all parents of our school’s “opt-out” privacy policy. If parents do not want photos of themselves or their children to be posted on our school website, or possibly in public media, please contact the Board and complete an “opt-out” form. Please contact me directly if you have any questions regarding this policy. I want to thank our IT lead, Chao-Huang Yen, who helped to make changes on our website. In our school home page, you can view Internal news (e.g. Principal’s Letter) and also review External/Community news, for parents’ convenience. Thanks a lot for Chao-Huang’s help!! Daylight Savings Time begins on 3/9/14. Please don’t forget to set your clock ahead one hour. I believe that you all will enjoy the coming Spring!
