親愛的蓋城家庭成員們，大家好!

我在三月份的信中到，我們將在4/27 慶祝蓋城40歲的里程碑生日，時間過的好快 這個星期日就是這個大日子！ 這是一個屬於所有蓋城的成員，無論是過去還是現在校友的特殊日子。我希望每一位家長都能參與所有慶祝活動

我們一年一度的食物義賣將揭開慶祝活動的序幕，這是由我們的高中B班學生所策劃的活動。春假前高班學生有將食物義賣傳單送給每一個同學，傳單上有建議每班帶來的食物作為家長參考。請家長們帶您的美味佳餚在下午12:30到學校來支持本次活動，我們會在中午1點開始用餐。

午餐後，我們將在下午2點開始我們的“校友團聚會。在過去的幾個星期，透過許多人的幫助，我們發出了上百封的郵件和電子郵件，邀請我們以前的老師，家長，同學和創辦人。希望藉著這個聚會，我們有機會了解更多關於蓋城的歷史，同時分享我們的故事─ 今天的蓋城。會中我們會放映無法來參加盛會的校友祝福短片，還有祝賀的詩詞和大家分享。同時我們會在下午2:50一起切生日蛋糕。這是屬於每一位蓋城人特別時刻。希望家長們別錯過這個聚會。

下午3點， 我們會進行學生中文卡拉OK的表演，接著是紙雕活動。我們希望孩子們的中文學習不限於課堂上的講座，音樂和文化活動也是學習上的重要部分。家長們，請不要忘記帶上你的相機或錄影機記錄你的孩子（們）的可愛的歌唱表演。

週日4/27對蓋城人是一個大日子，希望所有家長都能出席。 我很自豪身為一名蓋城人，我希望你也有同樣的感覺。正如我經常說的，大家的出席是對學校最好的支持。 希望明天可以看到所有的家長們！。

Dear GCS family members,

Finally winter is long gone, and I hope all of you enjoy the beautiful and pleasant spring!

As I mentioned in March, we’re having a milestone 40th birthday this year, and the celebration is tomorrow 4/27.  This is a special day for all GCS family members, past and present. I hope every parent participates in all events planned for this special date.

The celebration starts with our annual food fundraising.  It is organized by our high school class B students.  A flyer was sent home with students recommending food to bring, as a reference for parents.  Please bring your delicious food to school at 12:30pm to support this event, and we will start our lunch at 1pm.

After lunch, we will start our “Get Together” event at 2pm. In the past few weeks, with many people’s help we have sent out mail and email to our former teachers, alumni, parents, and our founders.  During this Get Together, we will get a chance to learn more about GCS history and to share stories as well. There will be videos and slide presentations from alumni with their best wishes for GCS’s birthday.  We know that we cannot have a birthday party without a birthday cake, so there will be cake cutting around 2:50pm.  This is a moment that belongs to each and every GCS member.  Please come to the Get Together at the cafeteria at 2pm.  Below is an invitation letter sent to our alumni as your reference.

We will also have students’ Chinese karaoke presentation at 3pm, followed by paper sculpture activity.  We hope to show that our students’ learning is not limited to classroom lectures only, and that music and culture activities are important elements of education.  Parents, don’t forget to bring your cameras to record your child(ren)’s lovely singing performance.

Sunday 4/27 is a big day for all of us. Please attend every activity throughout the day, if you can.  I’m very proud to be a GCS member, and I hope that you feel the same way.   As I always say, your presence shows your support for the school.   I hope to see you tomorrow at this major event.
