親愛的蓋城家庭成員們，大家好!

在過去的兩個星期, 我們非常忙碌的舉行我們學校40週年的活動，還有一年一度的中文學校運動會，謝謝每一個參與的蓋城人，這兩個活動都進行得非常順利。

在40週年慶典開始，是高中B班學生負責的食物義賣募得742美元。在校友的聚會活動當中，我們很幸運請到一些40年前蓋城的創辦人，並與我們分享一些創校的故事。有些校友不能參加，特別寄上電郵和錄影傳達對學校的的祝福。台北經濟文化代表處文化中心劉主任，也在下午3點蒞校為我們的中文卡拉OK和紙雕活動致詞。劉主任告訴我，她非常佩服我們蓋城在文化活動上的創意並對學生的作品留下深刻的印象。所有慶典的活動都報導在大紀元報紙上 （請點下連結）

在中文學校運動會中，謝謝康樂組長郭允文活動的策劃，和管教務主任所帶領的老師和家長們 負責學校攤位台灣小吃的販賣，銷售980元。我們的學生在運動場上也有突出表現：

我們這兩個活動之如此順利， 要謝謝所有參與的蓋城人。由於篇幅有限，我很抱歉沒有一一列出每個幕後英雄。我要特別感謝董事會成員，管教務主任，和所有的老師們。因為他們的幫助，我們能夠順利成功地完成所有這些活動！再一次謝謝大家對蓋城的支持！

本學年即將結束，我們在5/11和5/18 正常上課 ， 5/25陣亡將士紀念日學校關閉，6月1日是學校結業和畢業典禮。請不要忘記預先註冊 2014年秋季班。註冊組會分發註冊單給大家。

明天是母親節，我想藉此機會祝福每一個蓋城家庭 母親節快樂！

Dear GCS family members,

We were very busy in the last 2 weeks.  One was our 40th anniversary and one was the Annual Metropolitan Chinese Schools Field Day.  Thanks to each and everyone’s help, both events went very well. 

Our 40th anniversary celebration started with the annual food fundraising.  Thanks to our high school class B students who organized this event and raised $742.  At our alumni get-together event, we were lucky to have some of our founders come and share stories with us.   Some alumni could not make it but send their best wishes via emails and video clips.  The Director of Culture Center of TECRO, Ms. Liu, came to our event at 3pm for the Chinese Karaoke and paper sculpture activities.  She told me that she was impressed with our creativity on our culture activities.  This wonderful event was reported in the newspaper

In the Field Day event, thanks to Recreation Lead Thomas Kuo’s organization and Dean Kuan’s lead on food selling for this event.  Dean Kuan led a group of teachers and volunteers selling delicious and authentic Chinese food in our school stand and made sales of $980.  Our students also had outstanding performances:

Many people contributed to these two events, however, due to the size of this article I may not be able to list everyone in this letter. I do want to give special thanks to the Board members and all teachers, led by the Dean. Because of their help, we were able to complete all these events smoothly and successfully!  Thank you all for your support to GCS!

Our school year is coming to an end soon. We have classes on 5/11 and 5/18, 5/25 Memorial Day school is closed, and 6/1 is school closing and graduation ceremony. Please don’t forget to pre-register for 2014 Fall semester before the summer.  Registration group will distribute registration forms later.

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day, and I want to take this opportunity to say Happy Mother’s Day to all GCS families. Don’t forget to do something special for your mother.  Even a small gesture, like a big hug, may brighten a mother’s day!
