親愛的蓋城家庭成員們，大家好!

謝謝所有參與第五屆網路華語卡拉OK大賽 全球票選活動的蓋城家庭和朋友們，   我們學校有2組參賽，表現都非常優異。團隊C6青春活力隊，學生吳惟儀，蕭佩伃，黃品萱，丁肇琪，和鄧皓欣，音樂主題為“不要停止音樂”獲第三名。 團隊 C5:  蓋城朋友隊，學生邢岳，蔡杰遠，周冠成，郭明奇，毛偉權, 音樂主題為朋友 獲優勝獎。 謝謝江東錦老師和幫忙的家長們，讓我們的學生能有這個有趣的學習經驗和好的成績

在過去的幾個禮拜， 我們也進行一些有創意和有趣的文化活動 - 紙雕與中國戲曲面譜的製作。學生們的作品和介紹將上傳到網路上讓家人和朋友一起欣賞和投票。等到上傳完畢，我會再和大家​​報告網站的鏈接。

我們已經開始了2014-2015年秋季班的註冊。附上的是最新的註冊單，請大家預先註冊秋季班，學校可以據此來規劃我們的新學年。在今年春季班開始時，我們實施了招生優惠折扣方案。我們將在秋季班繼續這方案。    這個計劃提供50％的優惠退款提供獎勵給參加這項方案的蓋城家庭 幫忙介紹新的學生，而新的學生的家庭也可收到25％的學費折扣。附件是招生優惠折扣方案的詳細信息。 如果您有任何疑問, 隨時與我或任何董事會成員討論。

5/25陣亡將士紀念日學校會關閉。6月1日是學校結業和畢業典禮。今年 我們有7名學生畢業。像往常一樣，我們也會在典禮中分發許多獎項給在校生，獎勵學生在學年中無論校內外的出色表現。我們的結業 和畢業典禮將在華府華僑文教服務中心（901 Wind River Lane Gaithersburg）舉行  。請大家下午1:45進場 ， 我希望看到所有的家長們參加這項典禮！

Dear GCS family members,

Thank you to those GCS friends and families who voted for our students in the 5th Washington area Chinese school Internet Chinese Karaoke contest.  Our school had 2 groups in this contest and both of them did a very good job.  Team C6, students Allison Wu，Aza Shiao, Belle Huang, Michelle Ting and Teanna Tang, titled “Don’t stop the music” won 3rd place and Team C5: Dotson Hsing, Nicholas Evans, Jason Kuo, Wei Quan Kuo, and Michael Chou, titled “Friendship” received outstanding performance award.  Thank you to teacher Ms. Chiang and supporting parents for their efforts so our students could have this fun learning experience.

In case you didn’t know, we had some creative and fun cultural activities - Paper Sculpture and Chinese Opera Face making. Their art work and presentation will be uploaded online for family and friends to view and to vote.  Please standby and I will definitely share the link with you when it is available.  

We have started our 2014-2015 Fall semester registration. Please find the registration form for your reference which is attached.  Please pre-register for the Fall semester as soon as you can so we can plan our coming school year accordingly.

We have implemented a Referral Program in Spring beginning of this year. We will be continue this program for the Fall semester.  This plan gives a 50% refund of one current GCS student’s tuition for every new student referred.  And the new student’s family will received a 25% tuition discount. Attached is the Referral Program form with detailed information.  Please feel free to discuss with me or any Board member if you have questions.

June 1st is our school closing and graduation ceremony.  We have 7 students who will graduate this year.  As usual, we will also distribute many awards to students for their outstanding performance during the school year.  Please  note that our closing and graduation ceremony will be held at Cultural Center at TECRO, 901 Wind River Lane Gaithersburg.  Please arrive at 1：45pm so we can start our ceremony on time at 2pm. I hope to see you all in the ceremony!
