親愛的蓋城家庭成員們，大家好!

在家長會中,我提到今年學校一個新的方案 -教師觀摩學習.我很高興的和各位報告在過去的兩個禮拜裡,我們已順利的完成兩個班級的教師觀摩學習,預計到12月中會完成所有參與的班級. 透過這個方案,我們希望提供老師們互相學習的機會,以及強化學生於目前及未來升級的學習.非常謝謝管教務主任策畫和推動這個方案. 

我要提醒所有家長夏令時間將在11/2日的凌晨2點結束，所以今晚要調整時間。請務必將您的時間倒退一個小時（例如凌晨2點到凌晨1點）。

未來的幾個禮拜,學校有一系列的活動.希望家長們踴躍出席.

11/2：我們將在本週日進行萬聖節遊行。請讓您的孩子（們）把萬聖節的服裝帶到學校，並在點心時間展示給同學。學校會準備糖果給學生們.

11/16：我們的高班A在學校餐廳進行一年一度的中文多媒體大賽。所有的家長都歡迎來觀賽。我們也在尋找願意自願擔任評審的家長們。請家長們與我或管教務主任聯絡。

11/22:我們特別邀請資深曾慧怜老師擔任我們數位教學系列活動特邀講員,講題是”如何從僑校走入美國主流社會”. 曾慧怜老師在賓州主流學校任教多年有豐富及相當的中文教學經驗. 我們希望這個演講提供給大華府所有的中文學校及老師們,所以特別安排在文化中心 (901 Wind River Lane,Gaithersburg, MD).10:30am to 12:30pm. 希望家長們參加並告訴所有對中文教育有興趣的人.

11/23： 下午2:10我安排了理財權威專家，張恆宇先生，談財務管理. 張先生有近二十年理財的專業知識與實務經驗。這是一個很好的機會學習和有關財務方面的問題。非常歡迎大家邀請朋友來參加這個研討會.

Dear GCS family members,

I am pleased to report that in the past two weeks, we have successfully completed two classes of the “Teacher Observation Learning” program, and this program will be completed by mid-December. I talked about this Program in our Parent’s Meeting. Through this program, we hope to provide an opportunity for teachers to learn from each other, and strengthen students’ current learning in connection with the subsequent class. Thanks a lot to our Dean Kuan who planned and executed this program.  

“Spring ahead; fall back.”  I want to remind all parents to adjust the time tonight by 2am because of the end of daylight saving time.  Please make sure to set your clocks back one hour (e.g. 2am to 1am).

In the next couple weeks, we have several school activities, and I hope that all parents can participant and show your support to the school:

11/2: We have our Halloween parade this Sunday.  Please have your child(ren) bring their costume to school, and show to schoolmates during snack time.   

11/16: Our High A class will have their Chinese multimedia contest in the cafeteria.  All parents are welcome to watch the contest.  We also are looking for parents to volunteer be the judges.  Please contact me or Dean Kuan if you can be a judge.

11/23: I have arranged to have a financial professional, Mr. Henry Chang, talk about financial management at 2:10pm.  Mr. Chang has worked in the financial management and investment fields for more than 20 years.  It’s a good opportunity to learn and to ask questions about financial issues. You’re very welcome to invite your friends to attend this seminar, since it is open to the public and not limited to GCS family only.
