親愛的蓋城家庭成員們，大家好!

在信的一開始,我要和大家分享一個好消息。由於我們上次在Quince Orchard圖書館支持慶祝中國新年出色的表現，我收到Quince Orchard 圖書館再次邀請我們在2015年支持中國新年慶祝活動. 這是我們的榮幸和我們的社區一起慶祝和分享這個特殊的節日。這個活動將於2015年2月21日（星期六）舉行。距離這個活動還有幾個月,我和管教務主任,和董事會已經開始我們的籌劃了。如果有人願意支援本次活動，請直接與我聯繫。

這個星期天11月16日，我們高A班學生將進行一年一度的多媒體導覽比賽。在過去的幾個星期，我們的學生，老師和家長們都投入了大量的時間在準備這個比賽。這個多媒體導覽的學習方案，讓學生結合電腦技術（錄音，網頁設計等）呈現他們在中國語言和文化的學習。除了11/16現場比賽，我們也將有線上投票競賽。讓我們的家人和朋友們可以看到學生們學習的成果,並投票選出他們最喜歡的隊伍！投票的網頁將在現場比賽後提供給大家。我希望所有的家長們，無論你的孩子是否在高班，來看看這個比賽，並給他們最好的支持！

我們特別邀請曾慧怜老師擔任我們數位教學系列活動特邀講員,講題是”如何從僑校走入美國主流社會”. 曾慧怜老師在賓州主流學校任教多年有豐富及相當的中文教學經驗. 我們希望這個演講提供給大華府所有的中文學校及老師們,所以特別安排在11/22 星期六於文化中心 (901 Wind River Lane,Gaithersburg, MD).10:30am to 12:30pm. 附上的是活動海報及報名的連結.希望家長們參加並告訴所有對中文教育有興趣的人.

在11/23下午2:10我安排了理財權威專家，張恆宇先生，談財務管理. 張先生有近二十年理財的專業知識與實務經驗。這是一個很好的機會學習和有關財務方面的問題。非常歡迎大家邀請朋友來參加這個研討會.

希望家長們踴躍出席學校這一系列的活動. 如同我一向說的:您的出席是對學校最好的支持!

Dear GCS family members,

I want to share good news with you.  Due to our outstanding performance at Quince Orchard Library to celebrate Chinese New Year last time, I received an invitation from the QO Library to support the Chinese New Year celebration again in 2015.  It is an honor and a privilege to celebrate and to share this special festival with our community.  This celebration will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015.  There are still a couple of months until this event, and we have started planning for it.  If anyone is willing to support this event, please contact me directly.  

This coming Sunday, 11/16, our high school class will have its annual multimedia presentation contest.  In the past couple of weeks, our teachers, students, and parents have put in countless hours in preparation for this contest.  In this special learning project, students integrate their learning in Chinese language and culture with technology (voice recording, web page design, etc.).  After this on-site contest, we will also have an online contest.  The online contest will allow our family and friends to vote for their favorite team!  The online contest will be available after the on-site contest.  I hope all parents -- whether your child is in high school or not – will come to see this contest, and give them your support!

I have arranged to have a financial professional, Mr. Henry Chang, talk about financial management at 2:10 pm next Sunday, 11/23.  Mr. Chang has worked in the financial management and investment fields for more than 20 years.  It’s a good opportunity to learn and to ask questions about financial issues. You’re very welcome to invite your friends to attend this seminar, since it is open to the public and not limited to GCS family only.
