Dear GCS family members,

Thank you to those of you who participated in the Annual Chinese Culture Day at GCS today. The event was very successful due to the many people who contributed to it - Dean Kuan, the teachers' support, the Board of Directors' efforts, and so many of our wonderful volunteering parents.  I want to say "Thank You" to each and every one of you to help on this event.

There is a parent I want to give special thanks to. Her name is Ms. Shi-Hui Kuan. Shi-Hui prepared all the rice dumpling materials. She also brought to school hundreds of delicious cooked rice dumplings so that everyone could enjoy the food in the event!  Most of you may not know that Shi-Hui's child, also a student at GCS, just returned from the hospital due to an illness.  Shi-Hui needs to take care of her child, yet, she has spent a considerable amount of time supporting this event.  I want to take this opportunity to let Shi-Hui know that we truly appreciate her effort.

The following Sunday, 5/3, is the Annual Field Day at Winston Churchill High School, from 11am to 5pm.    Even though we don’t have classes on 5/3, it is considered a school day, and therefore participation is highly encouraged. We want everyone to attend this event and to cheer for our participating students.

It will be another opportunity to show the GCS spirit!!

Best regards,

Hueling Evans
