Dear  GCS family members,

Thanks everyone contributed and attended the annual Fall picnic last Sunday at the Black Hill Regional Park. It was a beautiful afternoon. You could not ask for a better day for picnic. I am very glad to see everyone had a good time. I also like to send my special thanks to Master to organize a martial art demonstration. Please keep in mind that the martial art is not just for our children to learn, parents are welcome to join to learn. We all need to have some self-defense ability in the current society.

This is to remind all parents and friends of GCS that we have invited a well-known historian and novelist, Dr. Jeffery Chen, to come to our school this Sunday (October 18) at 2 p.m. at Quince Orchard High School cafeteria to give a seminar to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the formal end of World War II in the Pacific, a conflict that tragically claimed millions of lives across Asia and Oceania and stretched several months beyond the war’s conclusion in the European. This historical events that impacted millions of Chinese, both in Taiwan and Mainland. I hope to see a full house at this seminar.

Have you seen the handcrafted decorations by our GCS Chinese Craft Teacher, Ms. Chouchin Jiang? She is offering Holiday Gift Workshop - Paper Flower Making for our parents during the school time. She will teach three different flowers making - rose, lily and peony. The material fee for each flower is $5. Maximum of 4 people can be enrolled at each class. The first session is completely full. Please come sign up this Sunday if you are interested in this beautiful handcraft making class.

Our Formosa Food fundraising has started! Attached please find the ordering form. The price is the same as last year. The weather is getting chillier by the day. What would be better to nibble on other than the familiar Taiwanese taste of beef/pork jerky and cuttlefish snacks! Please bring in your order form and check to Mr. Chaosung Yu. We will collect all requests and order directly from the manufacturer in Iowa.

Sincerely Yours,
