親愛的蓋城家庭成員們，大家好!

我非常高興也非常驕傲的向大家報告:高班A的毛憶蓉，毛憶瑄，和蕭端頤同學在我們副校長廖玲棋老師的指導下，上個星期六代表蓋城中文學校去參加2015大華府區漢字文化節電腦識字打字比賽，勇得團體組第三名。他們花了很多的時間和精力練習認字和打字準備這個比賽，精神可佩!請大家跟他們恭喜，肯定他們的努力。也希望其他的同學向他們學習，明年可能就是你表現的機會囉!

我們的手工藝李萩琴老師為大家開辦的"假期禮物DIY工作坊"，非常成功!他在十二月會再繼續開課。這次學的是比較有技巧，更加美麗的花藝。含所有材料和工具費，四堂課只要$30元。你就有機會動手學做幾個特別的小禮物，送給你的親朋好友！每堂課只限六個人！下一堂課12/5開始，如果有興趣的，趕快報名參加！歡迎你帶你的好朋友親人一起參加。若有多餘名額，校外朋友也歡迎報名參加！

我要提醒大家: 蓋城中文學校下個禮拜(11/29)因感恩節放假一天，不上課。如果有要旅行出城了，提醒你一路小心，旅途愉快!預祝大家有個歡愉的感恩節假期!

Dear  GCS family members,

I am so happy and proud to report to you that our High A students, Yi Rong Moh , Yi Xuen Moh and Zaz Shiao under the guidance of our Vice Principal, Mrs. Ling-Chyi Liao, took part of the Great Washington DC Metropolitan Area Chinese Typing Competition and won the Third Place Award. This is a difficult competition. Students not only need to type fast, the most important is that they have to be able to recognize a lot of Chinese characters. Three of them have been practicing very hard. Please send your best regards and congratulation words to them when you see them at school tomorrow. I hope other students can learn from their spirit and experience. You could be the one bringing back the award next year.

Have you seen the handcrafted decorations by our GCS Chinese Craft Teacher, Ms. Chouchin Jiang? The Holiday Gift Workshop - Paper Flower Making for our parents during the school time was a success. She will more sophisticated flower making in December. The material and class fee will be $30 for four sessions. Maximum of 6 people can be enrolled at each class. Please come sign up this Sunday if you are interested in this beautiful handcraft making class. You are welcome to bring your friends and family to participate in this beautiful class. Friends of GCS are welcome to sign up too if space allows.

This is to remind all parents and students that Gaithersburg Chinese School does not meet next Sunday (11/29) because of Thanksgiving holiday. Please be careful if you plan to be on the road. Wish you and your family a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.
