親愛的蓋城家庭成員們，大家好!

在這裡要跟大家確認，明天(1/31)蓋城中文學校是要上課的，相信所有的同學在家裡窩了一個星期 大家都迫不急待要出來伸伸腳!希望明天會看到大家。

另外要提醒各位家長，我們學校春季班已經開始了，如果你的子弟還沒註冊 請家長們帶同學來上學的時候，順便進到學校來註冊，也有機會跟學校的行政人員,董事, 和老師聊聊。如果你一時找不到空白註冊單，可以到蓋成的網站下載。

最近有許多的活動，重要的資訊，獎學金和學習的訊息，都張貼在蓋成的網頁的校外和社區活動和消息報導。例如僑生返台就學講座，中文SATII模擬考 素友會青年領導服務獎，海外華裔青年夏令營，中華函授學校，希望各位家長有空時上網查看。

明天下午四點到五點，我們在餐廳會連結到僑生返台就學網路座談。過去北美洲很少有學生回台就讀。教育部現在鼓勵北美洲僑生返台就學。並不是每個學生都適合的，但考量北美洲大學學費快速調漲，對某些學生來說，也許是一個不錯的機會。

在過一個星期就是農曆新年了。有什麼比傳統台灣家鄉口味的香腸，牛肉乾，豬肉乾，魷魚絲，魷魚片更好的呢?應一些家長的要求，董事會同意在辦一次寶島食品慕款活動。如果有興趣的，請參考附件的選購單向游昭松訂購。我們會直接跟製品廠集體購買，確保新鮮。我們會在一月三十日送出訂單，請大家告訴大家!多多支持我們的學校。

Dear  GCS family members,

I want to inform you that Gaithersburg Chinese School will resume class tomorrow (1/31). I believe many students are quite bored after been at home for a week and ready to come out to do something different. I will see you all tomorrow.

I also would like to remind you that Spring semester has started. If you haven't registered for the new semester, please stop in to school to register when you bring your child to school tomorrow. We would love to see you. You can take his opportunity to chat with the staffs, teachers, and board members for any suggestion you may have. If you cannot locate the blank registration form, you can go to GCS website to download.

We have recently posted many External & Community news at GCS website. This is a place where you can find information about unique learning opportunity, summer camp in Taiwan, Chinese SAT, Scholarship, and etc. Please come check often. You may be surprised to what is posted here.

We will try to set up a link to the informational seminar for opportunity for foreign born Taiwanese students to attend college tomorrow at school cafeteria from 4 to 5 p.m. There have been very few students from North America to attend University in Taiwan in the past. However, considering the rapid hike of college tuition, it may not be a bad idea to consider, especially students are most likely to attend the top ranked universities when you take this opportunity. Of course, it is not for everyone. However, if you are interested, you are welcome to find out more together with us.  

One more week will be Chinese New Year! What would be better to nibble on other than the familiar Taiwanese taste of sausages, beef/pork jerky and cuttlefish snacks! If you are interested in ordering, please bring in your order form (attached) and check to Mr. Chaosung Yu. We will send out the order on January 30 just in time to get the delivery before Chinese New Year. We order directly from the manufacturer in Iowa to ensure the freshness of the products.
