Olivia Sun (孫傲麗)
I am Olivia Sun, and I just graduated from Walt Whitman High School. My hobbies include drawing, painting, and reading. This fall I’ll be going to the University of Michigan’s College of Engineering where I may major in computer science or data science. My favorite classes in high school were: AP Psychology, AP Physics C: E&M + Mechanics, and Studio Art. I was the President of my school’s National Art Honors Society (a club dedicated to creating art for the community), the Awards & Fundraising Manager for my school’s robotics team, and I also dabbled in other activities, such as doing graphics for my school’s newspaper and magazines, helping my friend with his Engineering Society (which brought in engineers to speak at our school during lunches), and being the treasurer of the Chinese Club. I participated in an exchange program to South Korea during the spring break of my junior year. Senior year, a majority of my time was spent on robotics, and my team even went to world championships. During the summer, I usually participated in some college summer programs, as well as volunteering at CCACC’s Dragon Dance Team.

Victor W. Kao (高煒恩)

Victor is currently a United States Military Academy (USMA) candidate, and training at Cadet Basic Training (CBT, for 6 weeks) over West Point, New York.  Once Victor finishes his CBT, then he will formally be a plebe (freshman of military academies) at USMA, cadet of class 2020.  Victor will be living, studying, and trained at USMA for next 47 months (including summer breaks), and then will serve at US military (most likely army) as an officer for 5 years after graduation.  Upon his graduation from USMA, he will be entitled as lieutenant officer (尉級軍官).  USMA is like most colleges which have many departments, including medical school.  Victor wishes he can study engineering there.  This year there were 18,430 applicants for USMA, and 1,290 individuals are admitted.  Victor's SAT score is over 2000, and he got Senator Mikulski's nomination.  Victor's Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA, a physic test) is on average level, not so outstanding.  Victor hope himself can gain leadership skills and being a leader to serve and help other people and our society.
